Trigger Warning: Participating in programs that focus on issues of sexual violence, relationship abuse and stalking can be very upsetting. It can bring up issues that you have not through about or perhaps cause you to think about past experiences in a different way. It is common for people to experience a range of emotions including feeling sad, angry and/or inspired to take action.
No matter how you feel, it is important to take care of yourself. If the program becomes uncomfortable or overwhelming, take a break from it, get a breath of fresh air, spend some time with friends or by yourself. If you need to talk, there are confidential advocates available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by contacting the Office for Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance at (848) 932-1181. If you feel that you cannot complete the program requirements due to the emotional impact the material is having on you, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
