The Office of Compliance, Student
Policy, Research & Assessment (CSPR&A) reports to the Vice
President for Student Affairs and serves all three regional campuses
of Rutgers (New Brunswick, Newark and Camden). CSPR&A's main functions
include overseeing University compliance with disability, privacy
and nondiscrimination laws as they apply to students. The office will
also oversee research and the assessment of all student affairs programs.
CSPR&A also advises and supports all student services and student
affairs offices in the development and assessment of student life
policies.
Services provided to students by CSPR&A
include the following:
CSPR&A receives and investigates student
complaints alleging possible violations of the University's Nondiscrimination
Policy including complaints by students with disabilities
CSPR&A
receives and investigates complaints relating to privacy of student
records and student information
CSPR&A
will assist students with questions or concerns about university
policies relating to student life and services
CSPR&A will supervise
the assessment of student affairs programming. Services provided
to faculty and staff by CSPR&A include
advising and counseling relative to the compliance with the Americans
with Disabilities Act of 1990 ("ADA"), Section 504 of
the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 ("Section 504") and the
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ("FERPA") as
well as assisting in the review and development of student life
policies. CSPR&A will also devise,
implement, and oversee the assessment of student affairs programs
in an effort to meet the demands of providing a quality, integrated
student affairs experience at Rutgers University.
